What is the movie that you secretly watch five times a year even though it's way too cheesy/terrible?

    umm. Father Of The Bride!

    What inspires you?

    Your blog!

What do you want to know about me?

  2. Favorite Movie? I'd have to say "Away We Go" with John Krazinski and Maya Rudolph.

What is the movie that I secretly watch five times a year even though it's way too cheesy/terrible? I'm going to have to go with any movie in the Evil Dead series.

What inspires me? That there are people out there who know exactly who Michael Wincott is.

What do I want to know about you? What got you into movies?

  3. JENNY: I'm awesome? Thank you. The reason is: everybody here inspires me!

JOSHUA: I think I always liked stories. As a little kid I'm make them up in my head. Like, if I had to get on a bus. I'd not only get on the bus but I'd also make up a story in my head about getting on the bus.

And then, eventually, that interest in storytelling seemed to fit the best with movies. At some point, I just really fell in love with them.

  5. Hello hello hello, not a new reader as such, shall we say "long time listener, first time caller?".

    To answer your questions:

    What is your favorite movie?
Can't pick one, (discounting the trilogy of trilogies -Star Wars/Indiana Jones/Back to the Future) it'll be a list:

High Fidelity, Double Indemnity, Almost Famous, Beautiful Girls, Sideways, True Romance, Leon, Friday Night Lights and Eternal Sunshine.

Although by the time i've finished writing this list it'll have changed.

What is the movie that you secretly watch five times a year even though it's way too cheesy/terrible?

I have an epic soft spot for "That thing you do", but I do watch High Fidelity at least four or five times a year.

    What inspires you?

Now, this is an interesting and potentially lethal question. I've literally just fallen off the back of a full-time writing course in which, for the last three years, I've been writing something new and original at least once a fortnight, having met a girl and written a dissertation, I have found myself creatively exhausted for the last three months. As such, i'm trying to find what it is that inspires me, drives me etc, i'm also reaching that point where I'm wondering if it was all a sham anyway. (although thankyou for the recent post about "the problems you are facing in your creative work".

What do you want to know about me?

Two things, 1.your breaking in story, how you got to where you are, is it who you know, or talent that gets picked up these days? and 2. What inspires you? I need advice! Mine's dried up!!!

On a side note, thankyou, I'd really like to see what you write, your taste in films is spot-on. My friends and I have a rule that the best films are for the majority, people talking about their lives. The films you've referenced here (Wilder, Adventureland, Beautiful Girls, Cameron Crowe) all fit this bill. I figure if I stick around long enough you may uncover a few more i've not seen. x

  6. Hi! I'm new to reading your blog, but I love it so far! Especially your post about that show "The Event"... I'm glad I didn't watch it. :)

What is your favorite movie? I have a few... but if I had to pick one it would have to be The Usual Suspects.

What is the movie that you secretly watch five times a year even though it's way too cheesy/terrible? Honestly these are the movies I always end up watching when they are on... Forrest Gump, Penelope and He's Just Not That into You.

What inspires you? Don't mean to sound cheesy, but my kids... they keep me going.

What do you want to know about me? Sorry if you've answered this in a post already... I haven't read through them all... but if you could've written any movie or acted in any movie... what would it be???

  7. Congratulations on the feature! Great blog, btw.

    What is your favorite movie?
Harvey :) "'In this world, Elwood, you must be oh, so smart or oh, so pleasant.' Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant"

What is the movie that you secretly watch five times a year even though it's way too cheesy/terrible?
50 First Dates. I can't get enough of it! I know it's a silly romantic comedy and I usually can't stand the stuff but it's so cute and so honest.

    What inspires you?
Seeing people making a difference. I wish I could do more than I can and I do what I can but I always strive to do more and seeing others taking that extra step, giving that extra mile motivates me and keeps me hoping.

What do you want to know about me?
How different is what you are today from what you wanted to be/thought you would be as a child? Are you where you ultimately want to be or do you have a wish to climb higher?

Well, I hope to get better acquainted with this blog and keep a tab on you :) You can find me at http://www.kalamety.blogspot.com. I just started on here so, there's not much :)

    Well,
My favorite movie is Love Actually.
Bridget Jones is the move I watch even though it can be a little cheesy, because it's the penultimate chick flick and always brightens my day!
My inspiration comes when I open the front door in the morning, and inhale that crisp, fresh air.
What do I want to know about you? I want you to answer those exact questions!

  16. Hello, found you on blog of note, of course, so far I really like what I see.

    As to your questions...

Favorite Movie: This is impossible for me to say because I have so many favorites, but I can say often the ones I love are the ones other people don't like, like Vanilla Sky or AI etc.

Favorite cheesy movie I watch a few times a year, would have to be The Burbs.

What inspires me would probably be just life in general.

What would I like to know about you, What was the first movie you remember seeing in the theater as a kid and did you like it?

  17. What is your favorite movie?

    Who doesn't like batman?

What is the movie that you secretly watch five times a year even though it's way too cheesy/terrible?

Does Pulp Fiction count as terrible?

    What inspires you?

    Taking pictures of everyday life.

What do you want to know about me?

    What movies/shows do you hate?

I find some of the things people make movies about and try to make light of these days are so darn sad.

Maybe I just don't get it, but how is teen pregnancy funny (Juno) or drugged out parent selling their kid to be statutory raped (Running with Scissors)edgy and awesome?

  18. I am a recent graduate trying to see if bloging is something I can do. My favorite movie is Annie I have watched it almost once a year since i was like 7 or 8. But the One I watch the most is 10 Things I Hate about you. There is something about it that I just love. Maybe it reminds me of my high school days.
I am working on that whole passionate part. I am just so lost right now trying to find my way... The one question I have for you is How did you become so passionate about movies?

  21. A favorite movie of mine that happens to also often fall into other people's cheesy/terrible category would be Clueless. I watched it as a teenager, and still have my VHS. I rarely get to watch it, but always enjoy it when I have the chance to watch it.

My Grandma Dee is what inspires me. She had a massive brain anuerysm (sp?) 8 years ago, and has fought everyday since to relearn everything from speech to walking, to completing life's daily tasks with one working arm. She is still the sweetest lady I know, even with the changes and challenges she has faced!

  26. What is your favorite movie?

    What inspires you?
Art, birds in flight, my VW

What do you want to know about me?
What made you start this blog?

  27. Oh my gosh! I'm totally in love with this blog right now. There are so many movie lovers here!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE filmmaking; it's my passion and it's what I want to do in life.
I'm new here too, and I think answering the questions above is a great start.

    What is your favorite movie?
I can never give a specific answer to this question. It's like the question "what is your favorite food?" there's too much food to choose from that I can never just say one thing. I am so in love with movies/films that my list of favorite movies continuously grows.

What is the movie that you secretly watch five times a year even though it's way too cheesy/terrible?
None. For me, if it's too cheesy/terrible, I wouldn't watch it again if I didn't like it the first time. However, I do appreciate the work that was put into it.

    What inspires me?
Interesting. I guess I have to say that other filmmakers' work inspire me. I go out to the movies at least once every month and I just gawk at their work, and when I step out of the theater I feel pumped. Other filmmakers' work opens up my mind all the time and gets me excited for when the time comes for me to start making my own films.

What do you want to know about me?
Although I have such a big heart for filmmaking, I cannot sugarcoat that its environment is harsh. I personally think that filmmakers should not be criticized for their film because little is known of how much work, effort, and time they put into it, and no one can really understand enough how much a filmmaker loves what he/she does. But I know that criticizing isn't gonna disappear and, in a way, it is needed. I want to know how, if you had been criticized for your work, you deal with it and how you react to other people judging your scripts?

    What inspires you?

What do you want to know about me?
I work in advertising so I was wondering, as a screen writer, what do you think of TV adverts as a form of art?
