What Projects Are You Currently Working On?

I do this occasionally here -- just a chance for us all to share a little bit of ourselves. You are more than welcome to share links but, more importantly; I'd like to hear from you personally on your creative projects. What are you working on or considering working on? What is inspiring you? What obstacles are you facing?

Share anything you'd like to share about your projects in the comments section; It'll be great for everyone to read, and hopefully very inspiring. It doesn't have to be film based -- and, it doesn't have to be something big; maybe you have a poem you've been working on for a few months, or maybe you're about to start designing birthday cards, or maybe you're writing a screenplay for a studio and you're struggling on the third act.

Whatever it is you're focusing on, or thinking of focusing on, or struggling to keep momentum with--- tell us about it! I look forward to hearing from you all!

  1. I remember doing this some other time you posted this. I think I'm still working on the same projects, haha!

I have a project called Mail It Forward, and it's a bunny that's going to travel the world for charity, through the mail. I started the project SO long ago and I'm finally almost ready to ship him.

I have way too many projects that I'm working on but my main problem is not enough time or money. I guess most people have that problem.

  3. I'm working on a project with a friend that we are going to try and sell from June onwards. It's very exciting whatever happens.

  4. I've just finished writing a short script for a director friend of mine. It's probably going to be stop-mo but he's not so sure anymore (I still think it should be!). He's currently raising the money. I can't wait to have something new to write on. While I am waiting (there is another short in the pipeline with a small producer I know), I am brainstorming new stories. I have several ideas but struggle to get any satisfying outlines. I'd like to have at least one, preferably two good enough feature screenplays as well before the end of the year. That's the plan! :)

  5. There's a documentary film festival in town that I'm covering as accredited press (There's no way they've read my blog if they'll acredit me!).

Pretty fun getting screeners sent to my mailbox and talking to directors about their work!

  7. Oh gosh! I just started my project today so it's funny that I come over and read this.

I am cataloging and scrapbooking (both by hand with the older pics and digital with the newer ones) about 40 years worth of pics. Right now I am working mainly on the last 20 years. Which breaks down into 4 books. 1 for each kid.

YIKES! It's a lot of pics!

  9. I'm one scene (or maybe two) away from finishing my first screenplay. It's a dramedy, based on the time The Hubby and I spent living in L.A. when I was trying to be an actress. Not sure what I'll do with it, but I've got ideas lined up for my next two screenplays when I'm done with this one. :)

  10. Oh, I forgot...I'm also about to start writing and recording some new music with an old writing partner. Edward Burns is having a contest for singers/songwriters to submit original music for his latest film, and I entered a couple of songs there, too.

    "It's all happening!" :)

  11. Been working on a post about visiting 3 epic movie locations. I did one earlier this year about the locations of Amelie, Sherlock Holmes and Batman Begins:

But this time, it will be even more epic. It will be like a tour for people who haven't been there and maybe it will steer people to go and check these place out.

  12. I am fine tuning a screenplay in development with a frequent collaborator. Also on the schedule is another fashion shoot coming up and a series of commercials for a major client at the agency I'm at. Busy summer ahead by the looks of it.

  16. Thank you for asking. I am working on a few projects. One, is updating and mounting drawings for my portfolio. Another is creating a trademark font for my hoped-for new business doing chalkboard art for pubs, caffs, wine bars etc. Also, sketching designs and images that I can reproduce quickly on chalkboards. Another project is working on a series of blog posts on my moving to London in the 70's and my adventures as I settled there.

  17. As an update I spent hours collaborating today and something I thought was sorted was most certainly not. But over several hours it turned into something I had never imagined but which is still making me shake with excitement. What a great day!

P.S. Great to hear what Dolly is up to in the comment above. She is very talented.

  18. I'm working on a video game! I was home for a weekend and a friend and I designed it and now we are coding :) We are hoping to get one level finished by the end of the month.

I'm also working on a short film screenplay. I'm working with a couple of people for that one as well. It started as a web series, hence the number of people working on it, but it's going well too. We got a draft with everything in it a week or two ago, which is very exciting. Now it's polishing and tweaking. :)

Thanks for asking. It's my first comment :)

  19. I've started a story a few months ago, and finished the first chapter. After that, I just couldn't write anymore (no time, no inspiration, procrastination), but now i really want to finish it.
I wish everyone the best of luck on finishing your projects :)

  20. I have been editing my first novel and its funny becase while i am editing the first book of the series, i ma writing the second, i saldy have this habbit of wrtting it all in a notebook first, than typeing it up is a pain but luckly that is done, i wish i could hire an editor but, im tight on money at the moment and knowing my spelling and odd habit of having one hand type faster than the other they would need to be paid quite a bit.

  21. I work in VFX and everything is cables, keyboards, monitors, CPUs, GPUs, & servers. The capability of CG is amazing, but all the work that I manage is on a screen. Coming off a very long project, I have found that I miss more tactile projects. I therefore have resurrected a personal project of bookbinding and restoration that had to be put on hold. The toughest thing for me will be to remember to slow down. To breathe. This project needs to be approached with care and taken slowly.
