And there she was. You have precisely one second to make a first impression when you meet a girl like her.
Twenty minutes later and we were walking along the pier about ten minutes from my hotel and four minutes before it rained.
An hour goes by and she's sitting opposite me, watching my films on my phone. She quietly sits there engaged in the film, with this little smile that I've only ever seen on her.
I got on a plane, I came back to life. The years passed by and she has a husband now.
For a minute, I thought you were going to say she was singing doo-wah-diddy-diddy-dum-diddy-doo. Is her husband a good fellow then?
ReplyDeleteI loved this post. You said so much about an important snapshot of time in your life in so few words. Opportunities come and often go in the blink of an eye. We often spend much of our lives wondering what might have been.
ReplyDeleteI had an encounter once like that and I often wonder where I would be now if I had made a different choice...Hmmmm....
ReplyDeleteA moment like that once passed by me when i was in the big apple for the first time, except its more i fell for him, literary i tripped over his leg on my way to my seat in the theater (was about to watch phantom of the opera, on Broadway) and we talked because he sat next to me and my friends where in the floor below me, and when i left i wondered , what would have happened if i saw him again?
