This is an Abbott and Costello sketch from the 1940's. It doesn't get much better than this. Take the time to watch it, it'll be worth it! This is what comedy should be like.
I don't really care how much the latest superhero film took at the box office, although I'd probably know if you asked me. When I watch a film the main thing I am looking for is a good story. I like it when I look up at the big screen and can see a part of me staring back at me. More than anything, I am still looking for Jimmy Stewart and Jack Lemmon and Billy Wilder in every film I see.

Oh how I love this. Reminds me that I've been meaning to pick up the old 8mm film of this classic at my mom's house. I've been wanting the kids to see it, but not on Youtube--think the film, it's sound and speckled color, will take them back to the same magic I felt when my dad played this for me as a kid.
ReplyDeleteGiddy just thinking about it. ;)
I was definitely born in the wrong era because I found this sketch so much more appealing than what passes for comedy nowadays.
