I don't really care how much the latest superhero film took at the box office, although I'd probably know if you asked me. When I watch a film the main thing I am looking for is a good story. I like it when I look up at the big screen and can see a part of me staring back at me. More than anything, I am still looking for Jimmy Stewart and Jack Lemmon and Billy Wilder in every film I see.
1. He Got Game (I love hoops and big Denzel fan) 2. Jungle Fever (love that he took on this topic) 3. Crooklyn (Growing up in an all-black neighborhood, and as a blackman, I can relate) 4. Inside Man (interesting bank heist film and showed Lee's diversity) 5. Malcom X (made me curious to learn more about the man and solidifed Denzel as a great)
This is tough, as there are like 10 great picks here. I've narrowed it down, painfully.
ReplyDelete1. Malcolm X
2. Do the Right Thing
3. When the Levees Broke
4. Clockers
5. The 25th Hour
Great choices!
